The feud between
Drake and
Kendrick Lamar continues to run deep, with both rappers taking shots at each other in featured verses.
While Lamar seemingly
dissed Drake with his now-legendary verse on
Big Sean‘s “Control (HOF),” Drake has responded in the form of his feature on
Future‘s
“Sh!t” remix. Produced by Mike WiLL Made It, the track features Drake
and Juicy J, but it’s Drake’s verse that has the finger-pointing.
On the NSFW track, Drake raps and seemingly insults Lamar.
“I hear you talk about your city like you run that/ And I brought my
tour to your city/ You my son there, n***a,” he raps. “If a n***a say my
name, he the hot s***/ But if I say the n***a name he still the hot
s***/ F***ed up/ Lucky I don’t feed into the gossip.”
Earlier this year, Drake discussed Lamar slamming him on “Control” during an interview with
Billboard. While he said he tries to ignore all commentary about him online, he did address Lamar’s line in “Control.”
Meanwhile, at BET’s Hip-Hop Awards Lamar clearly slammed Drake with his
T.D.E. Cypher.
“What I was doing? I’m bout to crack the Da Vinci Code/ Yeah, and
nothing’s been the same since they dropped ‘Control’/ And tucked a
sensitive rapper back in his pajama clothes/ Haha, jokes on you/ High
five/ I’m bulletproof/ Your sh**t’s a never penetrate/ Pin the tail on
the donkey/ Boy, you been a fake,” he rapped.
Drake didn’t take the lines personally, though.
“I didn’t really have anything to say about it,” Drake told
Billboard.
“It just sounded like an ambitious thought to me. That’s all it was. I
know good and well that Kendrick’s not murdering me, at all, in any
platform. So when that day presents itself, I guess we can revisit the
topic.”
Looks like it was high-time to revisit.
