It’s been
another crazy year in the world of celebrities. Divorces, babies,
deaths, and scandals rocked Hollywood, and we’re counting down the
biggest celebrity stories of 2013!
Celebrity Scandals:
- Amanda Bynes meltdown:
Amanda Bynes had a very troubled year. The former child star used
Twitter as an outlet to call people ugly, feud with other celebrities,
and basically worry fans. Eventually after some legal trouble she was
placed on a psychiatric hold, and then headed to rehab.
- Justin Bieber’s reckless year:
Bieber had everyone talking this year as he kept the controversy
rolling from January – December. The Biebs was called out for his
reckless driving, alleged marijuana use, reportedly visiting a brothel,
and just down right being disrespectful to pretty much everyone.
- Reese Witherspoon’s arrest:
America’s sweetheart Reese Witherspoon had a very embarrassing moment
in 2013 when her husband was arrested for DUI, and she was caught on
camera being drunk and disorderly, which lead to her own arrest, and a
viral video.
- Manti Te’o Catfish moment:
The college football player claimed to have been in a ‘Catfish’
situation with an online girlfriend, and made headlines with the “fake”
relationship.
- Farrah Abraham sex tape:
Former ‘Teen Mom’ Farrah surprised everyone when she revealed she
filmed a sex tape with porn star James Deen, and that she was selling
the tape for big bucks. Farrah also was arrested for a DUI, and modeled
her lady parts for adult toys in 2013.
- Paris Jackson suicide attempt:
Michael Jackson’s daughter, Paris, shocked the nation when she tried to
kill herself in 2013. Paris sought treatment, and appears to be doing
much better.
- Lance Armstrong’s confession: Talk about a rough year! Cyclist Lance Armstrong lost all credibility when he finally admitted to doping.
- Cory Monteith enters rehab:
‘Glee’ star Cory Monteith surprised fans when he headed to rehab for
drug addiction. Sadly, Cory died later in the year from an overdose.
- Julianne Hough’s black face: The ‘DWTS’ pro turned actress offended many when she dressed in black face for Halloween 2013.
- Miley Cyrus’ twerking:
Oh Miley! Where to we start. As the most talked about celebrity of
2013, Miley Cyrus has given fans so much to consider scandalous.
However, it was her twerking at the MTV VMAs with Robin Thicke that left
fans speechless this year.
- Simon Cowell’s baby: Simon Cowell got his former best friend’s wife, Lauren Silverman pregnant this year. Need we say more?
- Paula Deen racism controversy: TV Chef Paula Deen was accused
of making racist comments to members of her staff, which caused her to
lose endorsements and more.
- Zac Efron’s secret rehab:
Zac Efron completed not one, but two, rehab stints without anyone
knowing until after the fact. The former “High School Musical” star is
said to have been out of control with his partying ways!
- Lamar Odom cheating and drugs:
Khloe Kardashian’s NBA husband Lamar Odom not only allegedly cheated on
his reality star wife, but had also been battling serious drug
addiction for years before the stuff hit the fan!

- Mindy McCready – Feb. 17, 2013 age 37: The country music singer tragically committed suicide just after her husband took his own life.
- Shain Gandee – April 1, 2013 age 21: The ‘Buckwild’ star was found dead in his truck, causing the end of the MTV reality show.
- Roger Ebert – April 4, 2013 age 70: The famous movie critic’s failing health caught up to him in 2013.
- Annette Funicello – April 8, 2013 age 70: This “Mickey Mouse Club” star and former teen icon passed away in April.
- George Jones – April 26, 2013 age 81: The legendary country singer died after an illness.
- Chris Kelly – May 1, 2013 age 34: The former Kris Kross rapper stunned 90’s music fans with his death.
- Jeanne Cooper – May 8, 2013 age 84: The ‘Young and The Restless’ star sadly passed away in 2013.
- Dick Trickle – May 16, 2013 age 71: The former NASCAR driver took his own life just after calling 911 to report his suicide.
- James Gandolfini – June 19, 2013 age 51: ‘The Sopranos’ star died from a heart attack while on vacation with his family.
- Cory Monteith – July 13, 2013 age 31:
The ‘Glee’ star died in his Vancouver hotel room after taking a deadly
cocktail of heroin and alcohol, leaving behind his grieving girlfriend
and co-star, Lea Michele.
- Lisa Robin Kelly – Aug. 15, 2013 age 43: The ‘That 70’s Show’ actress passed away after a long battle with addiction.
- Paul Walker – Nov. 30, 2013 age 40: The ‘Fast and The Furious’ star shockingly died in a fiery car crash the weekend after Thanksgiving.

- Halle Berry gave birth to her son Maceo with husband Olivier Martinez in 2013.
- Heather Morris, the former ‘Glee’ star welcomed her first son Elijah.
- Fergie and Josh Duhamel welcomed baby Axl Jack t his year.
- Alec Baldwin became a father again when daughter Carmen entered the world.
- Prince William and Kate Middleton‘s Royal Baby, Prince George Louis Alexander was born on July 22, 2013.
- Jessica Simpson welcomed son Ace Johnson to her growing family, joining big sister Maxwell Drew.
