A representative for George Michael has dismissed suggestions the pop
superstar is about to hang up his microphone after the closure of his
website sparked retirement rumors.
The “Faith” hit maker has been out of the spotlight since May, when
he was hospitalized after falling out of a moving car on a busy motorway
near London.
Fans have awaited an update from the star on his social networking
sites, but were left shocked when a picture of a closed red curtain
appeared on his official webpage on Monday.
The site was also stripped of all links and merchandise, sparking fears he was set to announce his retirement.
However, a representative for Michael insists the singer is actually
gearing up for a new project in the New Year, saying, “The curtains
will reopen next year.”
The star’s webpage has now been changed to include the message “Exciting news coming in 2014″ underneath the red curtains.
