Everyone loves a glamourous Hollywood couple. But it always shatters us inside when those fairy tale romances don’t work out and before the year comes to a close, we’re looking at the couples whose love couldn’t make it through 2013.

Yes, some of these couples had their ups and downs, but we were rooting for them anyway. And while some pairs fit the ultimate Hollywood ideal, others served as our beloved guilty pleasures. But hey, we can’t feel too bad for them — they still have pretty amazing lives, with or without each other!

This couple left us bereft, only because we lost so much energy scratching our heads over their super-short relationship. Less than two weeks after announcing they were a pair, they went public with their split.

Fans of The Vampire Diaries couldn't believe it when the two actors split this past summer. Talk about sucking the life out of us!
